No one's treading on me in this shirt
I am very happy with the quality of this t-shirt. The material is thicker than other 'message' t-shirts I own. The black shirt is very black, and has not faded after 4-5 washings. The yellow print and image shows great contrast against the black background, and shows no signs of fading yet. The sizing of the shirt seems true---I am 6' 2" tall and 250 pounds, and I ordered XXL. It fits perfectly, with no shrinkage yet. Very happy with the shirt, and the message it proclaims. It gets a lot of stares and double takes wherever I wear it.

High Quality and Very Comfortable
I love the particular shade of olive drab. Perfect shade. The fabric is high quality, and very soft. I ordered it one size larger than I do with most of my tee shirts, because Rothco sizes end up being about a half size too small. I know, because I've been buying their products for about 30 years. I've been generally pretty happy with Rothco's products.

Great for historical fans
I just finished the John Adams series and had to get this shirt. The historical meaning is something all Americans should know. A great shirt. Love the color too.

Liberal guilt
I am in DC (95% liberal 4.9% independent 0.1 conservative) and I am a conservative of Hispanic descent. I love seeing people snap their neck because they have to do a double take at what this shirt says. It certainly makes a statement, here. I love being confronted by people that try to belittle me and say I am wrong for supporting conservative values. They say, 'Do you know that those old boys (conservatives) what you to be poor.' I simply reply, 'Quite the contrary, conservatives support legislation that helps the people accomplish the American Dream.' These people support conservative values deep inside, if you proposition them with individual topics at the most simplistic level. Unfortunately, they choose to vote in the wrong direction because of 'LIBERAL GUILT.

FAQs
I live in a liberal area. Will this shirt really get reactions, or is that just marketing hype?
It's not hype—it's documented. One of our customers is a Hispanic conservative in Washington DC (95% liberal territory) who wears this daily. He reports people "snap their necks" doing double-takes and regularly gets confronted about it. He loves it. Another customer says it "gets a lot of stares and double takes wherever I wear it." So yes, if you're looking for a shirt that makes people uncomfortable enough to start a conversation, this is it. If you want to blend in, buy something else.
Will this hold up to real daily use, or is it going to break in a month?
This isn't your average cheap graphic tee. The fabric is noticeably thicker and more substantial than standard "message" shirts. Customers report zero fading even after 4-5 washes, with one saying the "yellow print shows great contrast with no signs of fading yet." The printing is soft to the touch (not stiff and plasticky), and the shirt gets softer with each wash without losing its boldness. One customer has been buying this brand for 30 years—that tells you everything about longevity.
How does the sizing run? I've had issues with patriotic shirts running small.
Good catch—this does run slightly fitted/athletic. Most customers recommend ordering your true size if you want a fitted look, or sizing up one if you prefer a more relaxed fit. One long-time customer notes the brand "runs about a half size small," so if you're between sizes or like your shirts loose, go up. We include a detailed size chart with chest and length measurements so you can order with confidence. When in doubt, size up.
What's the historical significance of the Gadsden Flag? I want to know what I'm representing.
The "Don't Tread on Me" flag with the coiled rattlesnake dates back to 1775—before America was even America. It was designed by Colonel Christopher Gadsden during the Revolutionary War as a symbol of American unity and defiance against tyranny. The rattlesnake was chosen because it doesn't strike unless provoked, but when it does, it's deadly—a perfect metaphor for the American colonists' stance. This isn't just patriotism; it's Revolutionary War-era heritage. When you wear this, you're connected to 250 years of Americans who refused to be controlled.
Is this a good gift for my dad/husband who's a conservative in a blue state?
Absolutely. This has become one of our most-gifted items for fathers, husbands, and brothers who refuse to hide their values—especially those living in hostile political territory. One customer bought it for her husband while traveling and said he loved it. Another bought it for her dad who "loved it." It's perfect for the man in your life who's tired of walking on eggshells and wants to wear his principles with pride. Comes in classic black or olive drab, sizes Small through 3XL. Just check the size chart or go one size up if he likes a relaxed fit.
